It’s the 21st century, and doing business has changed over the years. To help your business be successful in the modern economy, here are five business blogging tips.
1. You need a blog.
This may sound self-explanatory, like saying make sure the computer is plugged in before calling customer service for help, but even in 2016, not all businesses have blogs. Have a blog and update it on a regular basis. Blogs help drive traffic to your website and establish your authority in the business community.
2. Make your content mobile-friendly.
Forbes pointed out that with the growing use of smart-phones and tablets, it’s critical that your content is mobile-friendly. If your blog can’t be read easily on a smart-phone, customers will turn to companies whose information is mobile-friendly.
3. Lists are quick and easy to read.
No one wants to read an essay. A numbered list, such as mobile business insights company IntouchInsight are organized so that readers can see your main points quickly. New York based Servco Industries’ blogs on cleaning services and employee health aren’t numbered, but they do break up the information into separate sections, so your customers aren’t straining their eyes reading one large block of text.
4. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Distribution and fulfillment company Ottawa Logistics starts each of their blogs with a cover picture. This catches the customer’s attention and quickly shows what the blog is about. Adding pictures between the different sections of your blog also helps to break up large blocks of text.
5. Be part of the community.
Entrepreneur.com recommends being endorsed by a local celebrity. Not only is it far cheaper to have a local celebrity endorse your product or services than hiring a Hollywood actor, it demonstrates that your business is involved in your community.
